My Golden Birthday

Happy Golden special Birthday to me! I turned 27 on the 27th! I have been prepping Dave for months that I really wanted him to do something special for me. He totally pulled through for me! He had the whole surprise planned out and even got a sitter to watch the kids overnight. (It definitely helps that we live with built in babysitters! And that we saved up our credit card points and got the hotel and dinner free!) Dave took me to Salt Lake and I he had me guessing the whole time of where we were going....we pulled into the Radisson hotel to check in and change clothes. We then hopped on Trax and I was clueless as to where he had our reservations at. We walked up to the Melting Pot and my jaw dropped. I couldn't believe it! We have never been, but always wanted to try it. I was elated with his wonderful planning! It was such a romantic fondue dinner for two. We both enjoyed actually being able to talk to one another and to relax and savor the food. Dinner took about an hour and a half, but it was so worth every penny. :) Even though it was freezing and there was snow on the ground, we went to see the lights on Temple Square. This year they had nativity sets from around the world out in the common area by the Church Office building. We snuggled up, held hands inside Dave's jacket and loved being together. It was so great to re-connect. It got to the point that neither of us could take the cold anymore, so we went back to the hotel and soaked in the hot tub. Then it was back to our room for popcorn and relaxing. I would like to say that it was a soild night of sleep, but neither of us slept very well. They had the sleep number beds and we couldn't get the right level of comfort, both of us woke up tired, but felt rested since we didn't have to get up in the middle of the night with kids! I would have to say that this birthday goes down in the books as one of the best birthdays EVER!
Thanks to all of you who sent me birthday wishes, I so appreciated the love!!

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and HAPPY BIRTHDAY! It sounds like your birthday was lots of fun. Sorry we missed the new years eve party, I asked Joe right after you sent the invitation on facebook and I "thought" I sent you a message to get some more details. It turns out I dont know how to use a computer and didnt send it. Sorry we missed it. I talk to Mark today and he said you guys had a great time. I was just wondering if you guys wanted to come over sometime in the next couple of weeks. I thought it would be fun to get together because we missed the new years thing. Anyway, just let me know what your week looks like. Happy birthday again!

That sound so fun! I'm glad you had a great golden birthday! Mine was when I was 15, so I couldn't appreciate it as much as I would now! I'm going to tell Shafer he's got to take me to the Melting Pot, that sounds awesome!
