Is anyone else going insane?

I thought this was sweet. This morning as I was getting ready I went into check on the kids and they were laying on the floor holding hands!

It is official, I HATE winter. I am literally going insane in the days...the weather is too awful to go anywhere and when I do get out it in only in the small window between getting up and ready for the day and Preston's morning nap. And then there is the issue of where to go. I don't want to go out and spend money since we are on a tight budget, but today I have decided that enough is enough. Something has to change, and whether that means blowing part of the budget then so be it! My sanity is worth it! So I am asking anyone else for ideas of things they do to pass the LONG winter days. How do y'all do it during the day??? PLEASE share!

I wish I had any advice for you, but, I too am going absolutely crazy. Next time you have a birthday or Christmas or other gift-giving opportunity, ask for a family membership to the children's museum or the zoo (Okay, the zoo might not be great in winter - I don't know). When I can't think of anything else (and I have overcome the winter blahs enough to even get myself out the door), sometimes I go to McDonald's. For the price of two packs of chicken nuggets, Daniel gets to conquer the playplace for an hour. Of course, Laurel's not quite big enough for it, but too big to just sit happily in the highchair, so that might not be an option anymore. Good luck!

Such cute kids! I have it a little easier because I live in southern utah where the weather is not so bad. I take Jack to McDonalds to play on rainy days and that helps him run around with other kids. Go durring lunch when its busy. And to answer your question Eric and I trade every year on who plans Valentines Day and who plans our anniversary since they are only a month apart. It works out nicely. Miss ya!

I feel the same way! I am about at my wits end with winter. I cant wait for the weather to change! I have always thought snow is beautiful and sometimes fun to play in but after I had kids it was over! I eat more, spend more money and just feel like I am going to pull my hair out during this time of the year. I cant wait for spring to come. You and your cute kids are welcome to come over anytime you feel like you need a brake and just need to get out. Love ya

YES we are insane. We go to the library, just to play with the beads that they have in the kid area. We will go to the toy department of a store and just play with the toys and don't buy anything. We will go to a kid play place (off -peak times) and just buy a small fries and let them play. But we are sick of all of those options too. Plus we have 3 nap times and Kindergarten pick up at 11:18. So we don't really have time to go anywhere. If you come up with anything good to do let me know!

You can come to my house to play! Or we need to plan a trip up there. Lets make a play date for next week!

I'm with you! I can't wait for some good weather so I can take my boys outside! We go to the library A LOT, they love it. We also go to the play place at the mall, play with toys in the Walmart toy aisle, or go to the McDonald's playland. But, mostly we're just going crazy here too!

Sorry, can't really help, since I'm soooo sick of winter myself. But we don't have kids, so the only ones feeling cooped up is ME. Maybe we should all move somewhere warm ... ? ;)

I am sorry that you are going crazy. I hope that warm weather comes soon. You should check the weather to see when a 50 degree weather day might hit. That is plenty warm to break out and bundle up and go to the park for an hour. Lots of love. Sorry we did break up your day to day and play. I REALLY have to plan things out before or they don't happen.
