Yellow-Fest '09!

(to start off I want to explain the title. Yes, we named our vacation. We went out with the same friends to a Kurt Bestor concert, and we called it Bester-Fest, so Yellow-Fest only seemed appropriate!)

This past weekend Dave and I took one last summer vacation before he started school on Monday. We left the kids home with my parents. It was so nice to just be the 2 of us. We were able to talk without any interruptions! It seems like we will be talking to each other getting into a deep philosophical conversation and then one of the kids will stick a foreign object up their nose, or push the other one, or want a drink...the list goes on! It was nice to start a finish a conversation and most of all to re-connect with each other, to just be us. We went up to Island Park in Idaho with our friends. That was half the fun to just be with them, away from everyday life. We went on a hike in Yellowstone and to see the sites. Then went to the PlayMill Theatre to see our other friend Jessica who was in The Secret Garden.It was a very moving musical, one that makes you think of life and never being able to predict what will happen. It made me miss the kids and I was glad to get up early to be back with them. It was a blast and a wonderful break to be up in the mountains and in nature, all be it the creepy, un-earthly, bubbling nature of Yellowstone! Thanks John and Kate for another fest!
