Easter fun

Oh how I love spring time. Easter has been a lot more fun since the kids are older and are starting to get how things work. Our Easter Bunny comes on Saturday so that Sunday I tell the kids is all about the Resurrection. But that being said, Hailey was so excited to get up and have a basket waiting for her. We did the best egg hunt ever with my Aunt, you take 12 eggs and then your kid finds 12 eggs to take home. No fussing, no running or fighting and it is all equal! (Loved it. I am totally stealing this idea). And on that note Hailey wants to know where the Easter Bunny lives, can someone enlighten me on how to answer that one?

I am having....

After the poll it was 12 votes for a girl and 8 for a boy. I thought about waiting and not finding out the sex of the baby, you know the biggest surprise of your life! But in the end I just couldn't wait anymore! Honestly, with technology, why not take advantage of what God has blessed us with and do it! I really just wanted to know. Well, the stars have aligned and the guesses are correct. We are having another girl! My preminition was a girl and it was nice to have it confirmed. Dave and I were both hoping for a girl from the beginning, so happy that we got our wish! :) But the best part was to see all 4 chambers of the heart, spine, hands, feet, toes, stomach, kidneys, ....everything was where it is supposed to be! Feel so blessed to have a healthy one! (so far so good!)

I just put up a poll on the side bar for you all to vote. I am going in tomorrow for an ultrasound to find out what we are having. I can't wait! So cast your vote, I will post tomorrow what baby #3 will be!!!

The latest news...

I always find it awkward to tell people that we are expecting, how do you bring that up in casual conversation? So I usually make Dave do it, or bring it up and try to blow it off. But here, I just post it. So for those of you who are fortunate to not be told face to face in one of those weird, Junior High confrontation coversations. We are pregnant. Done.

Once there was a snowman, snowman, snowman.

Hailey has so much fun living at Grandma and Papa's house. We put an offer in on a short sale home (it is a long shot and will take a LONG time before we actually move.) Hailey is so sad that we are looking at another house. She came to me crying and asked if she could live here forever, she never wants to move. And it's no wonder, they do the funnest stuff with her. Papa took her outside and built a snowman with her. He threw out his back getting that second snowball up on top, but he said it was all worth it.

Intentions of a Husband.

This first pic I discovered while I was uploading our most recent family pics. I didn't take this shot, it was Dave while he was doing the dishes. He left it on the camera for me to find. Which raises the question, why did he take a picture of a counter full of clean sippy cups? Was it to prove that he did the dishes? Was it documentation of a job completed? Was it a hint that we have too many sippies? Whatever the reason, I need not wonder, he totally redeemed himself! He told me to pack an overnight bag and make sure to pack a swimsuit. We dropped the kids off at his pre-arranged sitters and headed into SLC to the Melting Pot. That food is incredible! I had a coupon for free chocolate fondue and couldn't resist just eating the last bites with a spoon! Then we stayed overnight at a hotel. It was nice to not worry about crying in the middle of the night and to wake up whenever I wanted to. I slept in and then read my book for an hour! We soaked in the hot tub and had a great time together. So whatever his intentions were, I am madly in love with him! :)

Santa? Did Santa come?

playing cars on the floor.

singing carols at the cemetary.

All bundled to go to the cemetary. (Dave's siblings)

Preston LOVES his cousin!

Baking "cold to hot" cookies for Santa with Hailey.

This was a car Christmas for Preston. He LOVED IT!

Can you get a cuter construction helper?!? I think not!

The tree at about 1 AM.

Preston is a Papa's boy!

Michelle's parents and my niece Madeline.

One last visit with Santa on X-mas Eve.

Christmas came and went and I am still reeling from the mess of it all! It looks like Santa's sleigh threw up in our house and I am still looking for those ellusive elves to come and help me clean it up! Hailey was so excited for Chirstmas this year. We saw 3 different Santas in the month and everytime she would ask for the same thing "I want Up and Pinkalicious. Up is a movie, and Pinkalicious is a book." I was glad when we saw Santa on Chirstmas Eve that she didn't change her tune! We made "cold to hot" cookies (refigerator dough) for Santa and Hailey insisted that we get him chocolate milk, that he would like that better. We had a family party with my dad's side of the family and by the time it was 9 I was ready for bed. We put the kids down, but Hailey didn't want to sleep, she kept popping up. Dave stayed up to make sure she would stay in her bed and I went to sleep! We set an alarm for midnight and then got up and did gifts. Once everything was out Dave and I were so awake so we played our new game, Scrabble Slam, until about 2AM. He fell right asleep and I lay there looking at the ceiling for another 2 hours just wishing everyone to wake up! I was the first one up on Christmas morning and went and started to make cinnamon rolls and bake the ice cream cake roll. Hailey got up just after 8 and in her half awake stupor came into the kitchen and groggily asked; "Santa? Did Santa come?" I told her yes and she turned and went and crawled into bed with Dave! :) A little while later she bloted out of the room and rushed into the living room. I wanted to get her reaction on camera so I quickly followed suit. She ran to the little table where we had left milk and cookies for Santa and she gasped with glee that her present for Santa had gotten consumed. She didn't even notice all the gifts or the 4ft doll house sitting by the tree. Hailey ripped all of her gifts open and wanted to play with all of them at once. Preston was so contented to play with his cars and figure out how those little twist ties on the boxes work. He didn't open all his Chirstmas from Santa and when his big sister realized it, she opened them for him!
After openig our gifts we did my family and then my other grandma and then brought Preston home for a much needed nap. I think that was the best part of the day. No parties, just us enjoying some quiet time together. Then it was off to Dave's family for the traditional hamburgers and rootbeer floats and then caroling at the cemetary. (love that tradition!)
What a great Christmas! I really love this season. Now time to celebrate my birthday and the New Year. Happy celebrating to you all!
